IET Lucknow Alumni Association Membership Cards

The Executive Committee of IET Lucknow Alumni Association (IETLAA) will be issuing membership cards to all its members. These membership cards will come in two flavors:

  • Lifetime Membership Cards for lifetime members
  • Regular Membership Cards for regular members

This document will detail the features and specifications of the cards as well as the timelines and logistics of physical cards distribution.

Card Formats

The membership cards are being offered in two formats:

  • Digital Format
The cards in digital form are immediately available to all members at https://iethub.org/membership-card
Please note that if you have not uploaded your picture, we were not able to generate your card. The membership page will have instructions to upload your picture, after which we will create your card.

  • Physical Plastic Format
The Executive Committee is exploring options to print the these cards on large scale. As and when the process matures and the capacity increases, these cards will be printed and delivered to all lifetime members. Given the sheer numbers of regular members, and their presence throughout the world, there is no current plan to issue physical cards to them. We encourage our regular members to continue using their digital card.

The Card

The card is deliberately designed to have a clean and clutter free look. Some of the details have been moved to the QR code, scanning which will offer to create a phone contact with Alumnus’s name, phone number, email and IETHub profile page.

The QR code

Scanning the QR code on the card brings up the photo and basic details of the alumnus on the phone screen. This can help as a quick verification of the veracity of the card in case someone spoofs or copies a legitimate cards and changes the details.

Upon scanning, it gives a choice to save the contact on your phone. If you choose to do so, a new contact in your phone will be created with members name, IET branch and batch, email and their IETHub profile page link. It will also have member’s current designation and the organization they work for.

As of writing this, the QR code is used only on the membership cards. If you don’t want someone to know your contact details, don’t let them scan your card or don’t publish a copy of your digital card publicly.
